José Manuel Pérez Tornero, director del  Gabinete de Comunicación y Educación, reflexionó sobre la Alfabetización mediática en tiempos de crisis en la Media Literacy Conference de la Comisión Europea.

José Manuel Pérez Tornero, director of the Gabinete de Comunicación y Educación at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), reflected on media literacy in times of crisis during the Media Literacy Conference of the European Commission.

The Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), through the Department of Communication and Education and a consortium of six other European institutions, carry out the project: European Media Literacy Education Study (EMEDUS), which started in January 2012.

The European Media Literacy Education Study (EMEDUS) was presented to over 35 European experts who met on April 20th, 2012 in Brussels, headquarters of the European Commission (EC).

Experts from universities in several continents, scientific publications and organizations, associations, programs and international research centers will provide experiences, research results and initiatives in Milid Week congress to be held soon in Barcelona.

Milid Week Congress will be held at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 23th to May 25th in order to promote exchanges and cooperation in the field of media literacy and information and intercultural dialogue.

Milid Highlights is a set of interviews in a short video where several experts place the key themes of media and information literacy. This video is part of the audiovisual tools that UNITWIN (UNESCO UNAOC) intends to produce and will also be utilized in other initiatives generated by the program. 

La UNESCO presentó a comienzos de julio la publicación "Media and Information Literacy Curriculum for Teachers" (Curriculum sobre alfabetización mediática e informacional para profesores).

El libro "Media Literacy and New Humanism" ha sido publicado por el Institute for Information Technologies in Education dentro de la series de monografías "Theoretical Aspects of ICT in Education ".

La investigación "Study on Assessment Criteria for Media Literacy Levels", dirigida por el catedrático José Manuel Pérez Tornero, es un estudio focalizado en el análisis, reflexión y desarrollo de propuestas dentro del ámbito de la Alfabetización digital.
