Unesco Curriculum in Media Literacy and research projects will be presented in Milid Week congress

The Milid Week plenary sessions will begin with the official presentation of UNITWIN Cooperation Programme on Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue. Also the Unesco Curriculum teacher training in Media and Informative Literacy will be released and discussed at the Congress.

 Representatives from member universities of the UNITWIN program: Jose Manuel Perez Tornero, Samy Tayie, Abdelahmid Nfissi, Esther Hamburger, Li Xiguang, Sherri and Michael Culver Dezuanni, will present the action plan of the Chair in the first one of these three plenary sessions.

 On the second plenary session, thematic lines and Curriculum objectives of Unesco in media and information literacy for teachers will be announced. This will be chaired by the representative of Unesco Alton Grizzle, Carolyn Wilson, president of the Association for Media Literacy of Canada, Alfonso Gutierrez of the University of Valladolid in Spain and Johan Holmberg from Folkets Bio Filmpedagogerna in Sweden.

 In closing, Milid Week will host a third plenary session on developing a common research agenda in the area. This session will bring together Manuel Pinto, José Manuel Perez Tornero, Samy Tayie, Mar de Fontcuberta and Maria Ranieri, prominent academics from the University of Minho, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​Cairo University, the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile and University of Florence, respectively.

 Milid Week congress, taking place from 22 to 25 May 2012 at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, will be characterized by the dynamic organization of presentations and debates. Milid Debates and Milid Research are other areas for sharing research results and debate, and will be conducted in English and Castilian, respectively.

 With the plenary sessions, forums for debate and presentation of research results, the congress will bring together authors from all continents, with different backgrounds and contributions to the study and promotion of media literacy and information in the world.
