Registration period for the Masters in Travel Journalism second edition is opened

The Masters in travel journalism, organized by the Communication and Education Cabinet of the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, begins the registration period for its second edition, which will start in February 2013.  The second edition of the first Master in Travel Journalism in Spain will run from February to November 2013 at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Directed by Jose Manuel Perez Tornero and Santiago Tejedor, the Master is a theoretical and practical course focused on the specialized production of content within the field of journalism, tourism, cultural heritage and travel. The first registration period will end in June 2012. If vacancies remain, it would open a second period of pre-registration in September 2012.

 The master has the participation of recognized travelers and explorers, experts in travel narrative in media (newspapers, radio, television, multimedia, etc.), organization and development of thematic expeditions companies and travel agencies, and journalists who have made traveling an authentic way of life.

 The Master trains its students in the instrumental and critical management of different tools and platforms useful for travel journalism, in the design, planning and project communication coverage, in content production, in the organization of activities and the acquisition of different skills (experiential, survival, exploration, etc.) related to communication, tourism and travel.

 In addition, the Master includes (in the price of tuition) a short real trip around Europe and/or Africa, which will allow students to apply acquired knowledge and produce a real product of travel journalism.

 The Master in Travel Journalism is addressed especially to university graduates (Communication and/or any discipline of Social Sciences), who wish to specialize in the field of travel, tourism and cultural management. In addition, the course will be useful for those interested in other areas (biologists, chemists, doctors, sociologists, historians, etc..) Who wish to acquire knowledge of journalism and communication applied to travel. It also aims to travelers who wish to acquire knowledge and skills, specialized in the field of travel journalism (narrative, photography, logistics, survival, etc..). As a requirement for admission, applicants must have an university degree of at least 180 ECTS or equivalent.
